What stuck out to me about Ed Ruscha was not his art, but his burning passion for it. It all started with his journey of 1000 miles. His images of gas stations struck people as simple, but complex and beautiful at the same time. Then, his word art. At first, a single word was conveyed in the painting. Then, it started becoming longer phrases. All of his pieces were a result of his undying love for his passion. As stated in the video, he would paint every day for many decades. His passion inspired me to find something that I am willing to dedicate a large portion of my life to. After finishing the video, I will work hard to find something that I can dedicate my life to and becoming a master at that special craft.
